Clay, heritage and dreams…

Padel Holidays in Italy

Tuscany

The flagship Italian tennis experience. Imagine waking up in a villa surrounded by rolling hills, stepping out to a clay court framed by cypress trees, and spending your evenings with local wine and hand-rolled pasta.

Rome & Lazio

The Eternal City is also a serious tennis city. Home to the Italian Open at Foro Italico — one of the world’s most iconic tournament venues — Rome has a dense network of clubs, a thriving padel scene, and the kind of urban energy that makes every evening after play feel like an event.

Lake Como

The Italian lakes offer a cooler, more dramatic backdrop for sport holidays, particularly in spring and early autumn. Several high-end resorts around Garda and Como have excellent tennis and padel facilities, and the combination of mountain scenery, watersports, and charming lakeside towns makes for a supremely well-rounded holiday.

Amalfi Coast

For players who want spectacular scenery above all else, the Amalfi Coast and surrounding region delivers. A smaller number of facilities means this suits travellers who want court time as part of a wider holiday rather than an intensive sport focus.

About Italy

Italy has produced some of the greatest tennis players in the world, and it shows. From the terracotta courts of Tuscany to the lakeside clubs of the Italian Riviera, this is a country where the sport is woven into everyday life.

Add a padel scene that’s grown explosively in the last five years, a burgeoning pickleball community in the major cities, and the kind of food, wine, culture and scenery that makes every evening feel like a reward and you have one of the most compelling racket sport destinations in Europe.

Whether you’re here for a coaching week, a club tour, a romantic couple’s escape, or a family holiday, Italy delivers in ways few destinations can match.

Best time to visit

Italy is a genuinely year-round destination for racket sports, though the experience varies by region and season.

Spring (April–June) is widely considered the best time for tennis in Italy. Temperatures are warm but not oppressive, the landscape is at its most beautiful, and the Italian Open in Rome (typically May) adds a tournament spectating option for those who want it.

Summer (July–August) is hot, particularly in the south and inland Tuscany, so morning and evening court sessions work best. The lakes and coastal resorts come into their own, and this is peak season for families.

Autumn (September–October) is arguably the finest time of all — the heat softens, the crowds thin out, and the light across the Tuscan hills and Amalfi coast is extraordinary. Court conditions are excellent.

Winter (November–March) suits Sicily and the far south, where temperatures remain mild. Indoor facilities are available in major cities year-round.
