Destinations we recommend in Spain

Spain makes a compelling case for being the greatest racket sport destination on the planet.

Padel Holidays in Spain

Costa del Sol

The undisputed capital of sport holidays in Spain. The Costa del Sol offers more high-quality tennis and padel facilities per square kilometre than almost anywhere in the world, and Marbella sits at the centre of it all.

Mallorca

The island where Rafael Nadal grew up and still trains. Mallorca has built an international reputation as a tennis destination of the highest order, with boutique academies, excellent clay courts, and the Rafa Nadal Academy, one of the most iconic training venues in world tennis.

Costa Blanca

An underrated gem for racket sport travellers. Valencia and the surrounding Costa Blanca offer excellent value compared to the Costa del Sol, a fantastic padel scene, strong tennis facilities, and a food culture that rivals anywhere in the country.

Canary Islands

For year-round guaranteed sunshine and a true winter escape, the Canary Islands stand alone. Tenerife and Gran Canaria both have well-established tennis and padel facilities, and the islands’ spring-like climate makes them particularly attractive for late autumn and winter trips when the mainland cools down.

About Spain...

No country on earth has a deeper relationship with tennis and padel than Spain. This is the nation that produced Rafael Nadal, Carlos Alcaraz, Arantxa Sánchez Vicario, and more world number ones than any other European country. It’s also the birthplace of the modern padel boom.

Spain has more padel courts per capita than anywhere else in the world, a professional tour that fills stadiums, and a club culture so embedded in daily life that finding a game at any level, in any region, at almost any time of year, is effortless.

Add year-round sunshine, world-class resorts, extraordinary food, and a warmth of culture that makes every trip feel like a homecoming — and Spain makes a compelling case for being the greatest racket sport destination on the planet.

Best time to visit

Spain’s size and geography means there’s genuinely no bad time to visit, it simply depends on which region you choose.

Spring (March–May) is the finest season across most of mainland Spain. Temperatures on the Costa del Sol, in Andalucía, and in Catalonia are warm and perfect for outdoor play, the landscape is lush and green, and the crowds have not yet arrived. This is peak season for serious players and coaching camps.

Summer (June–August) is hot, extremely so in Seville and inland Andalucía, where afternoon temperatures regularly exceed 38°C. The coasts and Mallorca are more manageable, and morning and evening sessions work well. This is the best time for families combining sport with beach holidays, and the Canary Islands remain ideal year-round.

Autumn (September–October) rivals spring as the best time for tennis and padel. The heat eases, the resorts are quieter, prices drop, and the quality of light across the country is extraordinary. An excellent time for groups and couples.

Winter (November–February) is where the Canary Islands and the far south of the Costa del Sol come into their own. While northern Europe freezes, Tenerife and Marbella offer 20°C afternoons and uninterrupted court time making this the favourite season for winter training camps, club tours, and players escaping the winter grey.
